The trail notice is incorrect - you do NOT need a day pass for this trail. The day passes at Golden Ears are only for the beach, Gold Creek and West Canyon parking. Mike Lake is on the opposite end of the park and does not require a pass. The trail is quick - I do it with little kids who stop and climb everything in 45 minutes.

Mike Lake Trail is NOT a dog friendly trail. Most of the trials/hikes in the park are not dog friendly due to the animals that naturally inhabit the park.

Did this in January and the Lake was frozen which was pretty neat. The actual trail is quite short and offers minimal views but was nice never the less. Would be a good one to do with kids, although depending on the distance might not be worth the drive.

Did this trail today and it was a nice walk although there were a lot of tree roots that you walk over. There were spots that were very muddy and think that there needs to be some upkeeping to the trail. For new comers it can be a bit confusing on where to go since there are not alot of trail markers. Would do this trial again when it dries up a bit.
