Upon arrival observed no dogs allowed signs everywhere including park entrance. Not sure how this made the list for dog friendly.
Went back to Harrison proper and dogs are okay there which is unusual given the number of people and kids on beach.

I took a star off my rating for the fact that the trail isn't well marked when you pass through the camp site to connect back along the lake front to the parking area. Also, I am not a huge fan of the "upgrades" with the exception of the little bridge area, which eliminates trying to wade through a stream or rock hop in the wetter seasons. The lake itself is warm quite early in the season and great for swimming or kayaking. The beach halfway through the hike is great for stopping to have a picnic break and there is also a port a potty there. I highly recommend doing the trail in early September when all the baby frogs are on the trail.

Nice easy trail. Not much markings on the trail. But once you are in the right tracks, then the trail goes around the lake. I would recommend Hicks Lake trail.

The trail, established on the old rail grade has been destroied. It is now an industrial road covered in large sharp angular rocks, shot-rock. I do not recommend it for hiking or mtn. biking on.

Be aware that there will be a timber harvesting operation up on Moss Lake bench. Access for the logging trucks is being proposed to go through Sasquatch Park. There are 2 options for the route of the logging trucks: 1.from Deer Lake junction turn left down main road and out through Harrison Hot Springs; 2. turn right atDeer Lake junction and go out through Ruby Creek. The Deer Lake Trail will need to be turned into a industrial road, similar to Hicks Lake Trail. Write Mary Polak at [email protected]

to protest the application to run logging trucks though Sasquatch Park

For a real sick day go for a hike around Hicks Lake!
