The Helm Creek Campsite is accessed from the Cheakamus Lake parking lot and is about a 9km hike uphill (1.5km to the junction, 7.5km from the junction to the campsite). The campsite is situated in a meadow area with an incredible view of Black Tusk in the background.
There are 9 tent platforms located at the Helm Creek campsite but it's possible to set up your tent on the grass in the area too. Ensure to purchase your Backcountry Camping Permit from BC Parks before leaving for your camping trip.
Reservations are required for all campsites in Garibaldi Provincial Park, including the Helm Creek Campsite. Reservations can be made through the Discover Camping or BC Parks.
Camping at Helm Creek gives hikers the opportunity to further explore the area by doing longer hikes to places like Panorama Ridge, Black Tusk, or Garibaldi Lake.
