Tunnel Bluffs Trail Update
Updated: July 11, 2020
The route to Tunnel Bluffs now starts from the Sunset Trailhead Parking lot in Lions Bay. View the updated Tunnel Bluffs route.
Tunnel Point Update from March 11, 2020:
A 30-minute parking restriction near the trailhead to the popular Tunnel Bluffs trail has been put in place. The Ministry of Transportation (Facebook | Twitter) and Sea To Sky Highway Investments (Facebook | Twitter) put up the 30-minute parking signs at the Tunnel Point parking area on March 9, 2020. They would also like to remind the public that parking along the Sea To Sky Highway is not permitted and crossing the highway is illegal.
Unfortunately, these restrictions make the Tunnel Point route to Tunnel Bluffs inaccessible.

Hello
Lions Bay council and CAO went to the Ministry of Transport in the spring to get the 15 parking spaces removed from public at the Brunswick Rd turnoff
This was done to prevent access to the hiking trails in the area. Then Lions Bay proceeded to shut down all parking in their community to outsiders,
Now fines have increased to $ 250 for parking offences which also include aggressive towing at
$ 200 to North Vancouver leaving people stranded
Lions Bay community relies heavily on other communities for public amenities which they are not restricted from nor pay for. At the same time they have made sure no one from outside can enjoy the trials on Crown Land.
The parking spaces at the Brunswick Rd turn off are not only the safest and accessible parking spots in the area. But they also do not keep people out of the residential areas. The parking spots were part of the new highway when it went in to allow access to the area. Lions Bay had no right in getting them taken away.
Not only are they used by hikers but locals when they have gatherings , park n ride , emergency stop in case your vehicle broke down , construction crews working on houses at Brunswick Beach and people want access to the public waterfront
Lions Bay even made the 9 spots at the Park N Ride permit only. So you can’t even park there to get the bus.
Can we get a petition together to get these 15 parking spots back at the Brunswick Rd turnoff ?
Also please call or Tweet the Ministry of Transportation and let them know this is not acceptable. Why should a small amount of people in one community take away access to what brings joy to so many .
